Another UK ‘fireball’ meteor spotted in night sky one week after ‘sonic boom’ over South West – Bristol Live
Last week, hundreds of people took to social media to share videos and pictures of the fireball over the West Country
Two ‘fireball’ meteors have been spotted in the UK in consecutive weeks.
It’s believed last Sunday’s (February 28) huge space object crash landed just north of Cheltenham, after a ‘sonic boom noise’ was reported across the South West.
Tonight (Monday, March 8) stargazers spotted another meteor in the skies above Sheffield.
Virtual Astro tweeted at 6:50pm: “Large fireball spotted over the UK 10 minutes ago.”
One person replied: “Just seen an amazing shooting star/meteor over Sheffield, heading North….
