Cricket Australia ignores calls from biggest stars over WBBL name change – Fox Sports
Cricket Australia is planning to ignore calls from its biggest stars and has decided it will not drop the ‘W’ from ‘WBBL’ for the foreseeable future.
Meg Lanning used the anniversary of Australias T20 World Cup victory in front of a packed out MCG on International Womens Day to call for the change, saying just dropping a letter would make the world of difference.
But interim Cricket Australia chief Nick Hockley has revealed that while he encourages such a debate, there are no plans to make the change.
I think its great that leaders around the game are raising it and have taken a real interest in it, Hockley told the Sydney Morning Herald.
