Former Queensland police officer Matthew Hockley jailed over child grooming offences
A former Queensland child protection police officer who was found guilty of grooming a 15-year-old girl has been sentenced to two years in jail.
Matthew Paul Hockley, 33, was also convicted of using the internet to procure a girl under 16.
The District Court in Brisbane heard Hockley met the girl during an investigation and sent her a series of inappropriate messages on social media over several weeks in 2019.
Hockley will be eligible for parole in eight months.
