OPPO, one of three smartphone brands owned by giant B.B.K. Electronics, has become the number one smartphone brand in China for the first time, the technology analyst firm Counterpoint Research says, adding that this was achieved in January. OPPO was also the top 5G brand in the sub-US$600 (A$780) price segment.In a statement authored by senior analyst Varun Mishra, Counterpoint said OPPO’s market share had touched 21% in January, with its sales growing 33% month-on-month and 26% year-on-year.
