US manufacturer Spike Aerospace’s futuristic aircraft aims to cut cross-Atlantic flight times in half – meaning it can you from London to New York in just three and a half hours.
The firm eventually wants to cut this time to 1.5 hours the following decade.
With a travel speed of Mach 1.6 (over 1227mph), the S-512 Supersonic Jet matches that of the classic Concorde.
