V8 Supercars favourite has plate inserted

Shane Van Gisbergen has undergone successful surgery after injuring his collarbone in a mountain biking accident.
The championship favourite had a plate inserted during what was deemed a “routine” procedure in Brisbane and he is expected to fully recover.
News of the 31-year-old’s accident was confirmed in a statement by his Red Bull Ampol Racing team.
Van Gisbergen has alraedy been ruled out of competing in the opening round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS next weekend…
