WA Election: Liberal Peter Katsambanis faces ‘big challenge’ to prevent Caitlin Collins from claiming first Labor victory in Hillarys

On the coast of Western Australia, a battle is brewing.
Key points:
- The Liberals’ margin in Hillarys has been reduced to just 0.4 per cent
- Health, education and jobs are top priorities for voters in the electorate
- Analysts say Liberal Peter Katsambanis faces a big challenge to retain the seat
About 20 kilometres north of Perth, Hillarys has been a blue-ribbon Liberal seat since its creation, but after a boundary shuffle, the margin has been slashed to one of the slimmest in the state.
In the blue corner, incumbent Peter Katsambanis is hoping his last four years of work will see him through, along with his local address.
“The local people want a local person who actually understands their needs,” he said.
