2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class cuts the cylinder count to four – The Australian Financial Review
In a radical shift, the sixth generation of the popular C-Class features four-cylinder engines across the range.

At first some people didnt take it seriously! says Mathias Elst, product manager for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. He is talking about the baby Benz of 1982.
Back then, he explains via video link, the marque with the three-pointed star built only big and expensive cars, and the first compact class model, the 190E sedan, was a shock. But Benz persevered. In 1993 the model was renamed the C-Class, and its sedan, wagon and coupe variants have sold 10.5 million units.
