Emergency declaration in Queensland after DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE found near airport
Gold Coast police have found a dangerous chemical in a house just a few streets away from the airport.
They have declared it an emergency under the Public Safety Preservation Act to keep the public away from the area at risk.
The dangerous chemical was spotted at a Bilinga home at 3.23pm Thursday afternoon.
Locals have now been told to avoid Pacific Parade between Graham Street and Johnston Street, which includes Cahill street.
Police have set up an exclusion zone.
