An emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) was made about 3.20pm after police found a hazardous chemical at a home on Pacific Parade, Bilinga.

Four Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews are on scene after arriving about 12.50pm and are assisting police in removing the chemical.
