World Rugby recommends 2021 Women’s World Cup be postponed due to coronavirus pandemic – ABC News
The Women’s Rugby World Cup that was scheduled to be hosted in New Zealand in September is set to be postponed until 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Black Ferns may have to wait until 2022 to defend their title after World Rugby strongly suggested the Women’s World Cup be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
- World Rugby says the challenges include “uncertainty and the ability for teams to prepare adequately” if the World Cup goes ahead this year
- Australia and New Zealand were due to play the opening match on September 18
