‘I have a lot of respect for him’: Knights star defends Pearce, says veteran half will bounce back – Fox Sports
Newcastle utility Connor Watson has come to the defence of teammate Mitchell Pearce and backs the veteran half to bounce back from a tumultuous off-season.

Pearce stepped down as captain after it was revealed he had been exchanging racy texts with a Knights employee. Away from the field he lost even more with his fiancee calling off their wedding late in December.
The 31-year-old then suffered a thumb injury and had to undergo surgery during pre-season before its since been reported that he is facing a $250,000 pay cut to remain at the Knights next season.
