Essendons request to move their season-opening clash against Hawthorn to the MCG is far from over, according to Sportsdays Sam McClure.
It was revealed on Monday night that the Bombers had asked the AFL to move the Round 1 fixture from Marvel Stadium to the MCG, with the Docklands venue only able to hold 28,961 fans to start the season due to COVID regulations.
