Residents and recent visitors of three suburbs in Melbournes west are being urged to remain on high alert for signs of COVID-19.
The Department of Health issued a fresh warning on Monday after viral fragments were detected in the inlet to the Werribee wastewater treatment plant.
The fragments were first detected in a sample collected on February 25, before independent testing confirmed the result on Monday afternoon.
The catchment includes samples from Tarneit, Werribee and Hoppers Crossing.
