Hate queues? New tool lets shoppers track crowds, book supermarket slot – Sydney Morning Herald
Retailers are ramping up their social distancing and hygiene practices, with Woolworths unveiling a new tool that allows customers to monitor foot traffic at its supermarkets.
Shoppers will be asked for their postcode, which will show the data for their nearest stores. The tool will then allow customers to monitor whether queues are forming outside stores and how long they may have to wait.
Customers at four Woolworths stores will also be able to book 15-minute time slots to ensure they can skip the queues. Woolworths director of stores Robert Moffat said the bookings would be trialled in Taylors Lakes, Hampton Park, South Melbourne and St Helena.
