Aussie young makes history with first ATP title to give career earnings major boost – Fox Sports
Alexei Popyrin has joined an elite group of Australian men to win an ATP Tour title, claiming the Singapore Tennis Open in three sets over Alexander Bublik.
Popyrin, who came into the tournament unseeded and ranked 114th in the world, becomes the fifth active Aussie to have won a Tour-level title.
After dropping the first set, he became utterly unstoppable on serve, losing just six points on it for the entire match and rolling to a 4-6 6-0 6-2 triumph over the world No.43.
