Pearce’s monster pay cut revealed as Knights scramble to lock up stars – Fox Sports
Newcastle halfback Mitchell Pearce is facing around a $250,000 pay cut to remain at the Knights for 2022.
Pearce has been in ongoing negotiations with the club for the past 12 months with the No.7 coming to the realisation if he wants to remain in Newcastle he will have to sacrifice some money.
Currently on a deal worth around the $900,000 mark plus bonuses if the Knights make the top eight and top four, the experienced halfback is expected to agree to the one-year extension in the coming weeks.
