More than 80 per cent of jobs lost in NSW at the height of the pandemic have returned, with unemployment peaking at 7.2 per cent in July and easing to 6 per cent last month.
Following the most significant economic shock in living memory due to the global pandemic,the initial recovery experienced in NSW has exceeded expectations, the budget review said.
It also revealed business and consumer confidence was returning despite some disruption from the northern beaches COVID-19 outbreak late last year.
