Warnings issued as severe storms bear down on SEQ

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe storm warning for most of south-east Queensland as an extensive line of storms bore down on the region.
Large hailstones, damaging wind and heavy rain that could lead to flash flooding was likely, the bureau said. Maroon Dam, had received 51 millimetres of rain between 4pm and 5pm.
The storms are forecast to affect Brisbane CBD, Beenleigh, Logan City and Esk by 6.30pm. Ipswich, Coolangatta are expected to be impacted by 6pm.
Energex advised that 1260 customers were already without power in the Gold Coast city area by 6pm.
