Queensland Anzac Day dawn services to return in 2021
“Because we’ve worked together to keep safe, this year we can safely gather to mark the sacrifices of those who have served.”
Last year, Queenslanders were encouraged to step out onto their driveway, verandah or porch to commemorate Anzac Day and RSL Queensland went virtual with its service.
A wreath-laying service allowed a small group, including Brisbane lord mayor Adrian Schrinner, RSL Queensland president Tony Ferris and Ms Palaszczuk to attend.
Mr Ferris said recognising the service and sacrifice of veterans was critical.
“We are determined that, just like last year, COVID-19 will not stand between veterans and the grateful community they served,” he said.
