The HSE COO confirmed the trio were targeted ‘the moment they arrived in Ireland’ and that an ‘active surveillance’ plan is in operation

The three people that travelled to Ireland with the Brazilian variant of Covid-19 were stopped at Dublin Airport and are currently in isolation according to the HSE.
Their Chief Operating Officer Dr Colm Henry issued a worrying update about the new strain admitting that the variant may be “more transmissible” than first suspected.
All three cases are directly associated with recent travel from Brazil and arrived in Ireland in “recent weeks” with the exact date of arrival or how long they had tested…
