WA’s coronavirus hard border with Victoria to be lifted on Saturday but quarantine still required

The WA Government plans to reclassify Victoria as “low risk” from Saturday, removing its hard border with the state and allowing travellers to head west without an exemption.

- The WA Premier says the developments in Victoria are “pleasing”
- From this weekend, travellers from Victoria will be allowed into WA
- But they must still self-quarantine and undertake COVID-19 testing
The hard border with Victoria was reintroduced last week in response to a cluster of cases linked to a hotel quarantine worker in Melbourne.
Victoria was thrown into a snap five-day lockdown as a result of the cluster, but that is now coming to an end.
