Researchers warn leaders cannot rely on ‘crisis effect’ for long-term pandemic handling

The majority of people were supportive of strict measures in place in the UKs first lockdown – but only around half thought the Government was doing a good job of controlling coronavirus, a study has suggested.
Almost 97% of people surveyed were in support of governments having powers to force people to change their behaviour in the first wave, but just 52% thought officials were making good decisions, researchers said.
