Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 has described the actions of a Peregian homeowner who taped a python to a pole as “one of the worst things you could do” to the animal.

Stuart McKenzie used oil and water to gently peel away the tape without causing pain, or more damage to the two-metre python’s skin.

“They were like “what if it gets in my shed? what if it gets in my house?” it’s like, who cares? Let it go wherever it wants. Wherever it goes, we should be able to catch it.”
