‘Latrell knows it was wrong’

On the other hand, Leiluas high shot was completely unprovoked with Dylan Edwards doing nothing to warrant any kind of reaction.
In the case of Joey Leilua – it was a different type of incident, Annesley said.
A player who was literally a bystander was hit quite high. It was obviously off the ball and that player was an innocent bystander.
He hadnt done anything to aggravate the situation. All of that is taken into consideration.

With Latrell Mitchell, it was a different type of action. It was more of a swinging arm, more of a striking action, rather than a high-tackle-type action.
They are different and consequently, the match review committee viewed them differently and the attributes of those tackles differently.
Theyre not the same. Its quite easy to say that theyre the same but theyre not. If you break them down, you can very quickly see that theyre not the same.

Mitchells teammate Damien Cook leapt to his defence on Monday, agreeing that the South Sydney fullback had acted to protect his teammate in the moment.
Latrell saw his mate get kicked in the head and he reacted to protect one of his mates, Cook told AAP.
I dont think Dylan Edwards did anything prior to that to aggravate Leilua.

While Annesley says the two incidents were different and hence did not warrant the same penalty, he did admit he would have been fine if both Reynolds and Mitchell were given 10 minutes in the bin.
I wouldnt have been upset if both of them had been sent to the sin-bin, he said.
These are judgment calls that have to be made during the course of the game, and we talk every week about judgment calls.

At times observers and fans wont agree with the judgement calls, but we dont want to see those incidents in our game.
If the officials had decided to sin-bin both players I would have been OK with that.
I think they should have been sent to the sin-bin, thats my judgment.
