How the hotel quarantine outbreak that’s landed Victorians in coronavirus lockdown spread

Victorians are still coming to grips with their return to life in lockdown as they wait for news about whether or not the so-called “circuit breaker” restrictions have been effective in helping to curtail the current cluster.

So far the outbreak from the Holiday Inn quarantine hotel that began on February 4 has spread to 17 active cases of COVID-19 across nine Melbourne households.

Authorities are focusing their attention on trying to get ahead of positive cases that have resulted from an event in the city’s north last weekend.
