The Queensland Ambulance Service received a call for assistance at 12.08pm after a female in her 20s suffered injuries to her lower leg as a result of a suspected shark bite at Fitzroy Island.
The rescue helicopter recently touched down at Cairns Hospital with the patient who is in a stable condition.
