Under current guidelines, anyone consuming alcohol is required to be seated.
There is a risk of COVID transmission if people are mingling while under the effect of alcohol, Acting Director of Compliance for Liquor and Gaming Dimitri Argeres said.
The Star was aware of its obligations to establish and enforce their COVID-19 Safety Plan as we have visited twice over the past two weeks and provided information and advice on what they should be doing.

The fine came during a third inspection in the past fortnight, he said.
We want to send a strong message that businesses must manage these risks to ensure individual patrons and the community are protected.
It comes after Star Casino announced a patron had tested positive for COVID-19 during a visit on July 4.
Contact tracing is underway.
The Star is working closely with NSW Health to respond to this information, including the conduct of contact tracing (which includes staff members), the casino said in a statement to the ASX.

New South Wales Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant said the patron was asymptomatic when he attended the casino.
We also advised that he was largely maintained within his group and really did not interact with anyone else, she said.
