The toll of pre-season has hit the NRL in a big way, with a number of stars being sidelined in one week and set to miss the start of the 2021 campaign.
Newcastle backrower Lachlan Fitzgibbon opted to have surgery on a busted shoulder and will miss at least the first month of the season proper.
On Friday, Dragons captain Cameron McInnes ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament at training and will miss the entire season, ending his time with St George Illawarra.
