World No.1 Ash Bartys title hopes have risen sixth seed Karolina Pliskova was dramatically knocked out of the Australian Open on Saturday.
After being just one point away from sending her all-Czech battle with Karolina Muchova into a deciding third set, Pliskova instead lost the match having dropped seven games in a row.
Muchovas 7-5 7-5 victory inside an empty Rod Laver Arena sealed a fourth-round meeting with 11th seed Belinda Bencic or Belgiums Elise Mertens.
