The Duchess of Sussex has a fractured relationship with her father Thomas Markle, laid bare in a letter written soon after her wedding, in which she described “so much pain” he’d caused.
In the letter, Meghan told her father his actions had broken her heart “into a million pieces” in the lead up to her 2018 wedding and in the days afterwards.
She was left “worried, confused, shocked, and absolutely blindsided” after he ignored 20 of her calls, “opting instead to solely speak to tabloids”.
