Western Bulldogs beat Geelong in AFLW as Ellie Blackburn, Jess Fitzgerald steal the show

The Western Bulldogs have recorded consecutive AFLW victories for the first time since 2019, edging winless Geelong by 15 points.
In a low-scoring scrap at Kardinia Park, skipper Ellie Blackburn was again the shining light on Friday night as the Bulldogs pulled away late to win 3.6 (24) to 1.3 (9).

After producing one of the best individual quarters in AFLW history to drag her team across the line against Carlton last week, Blackburn delivered another consistent performance to rack up a second-straight best-on-ground.
The 25-year-old finished with 25 possessions and laid nine tackles as Nathan Burke’s charges moved to a 2-1 record and into finals calculations.
