Novak Djokovic’s huge roar in empty Rod Laver Arena after livid fans were ordered to leave mid-match – Fox Sports
Novak Djokovic described it as one of his “most special” wins in his glittering tennis career — and it was conjured in the most bizarre circumstances.
An ailing Djokovic overcame injury, jeers from a rowdy Friday night crowd then strange silence to outlast American Taylor Fritz in a five-set Australian Open thriller, 7-6 (7-1), 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-2, across three hours and 25 minutes.
Djokovic showed quintessential, back-against-the-wall grit and resilience to pull off the victory, hence his huge celebratory roar after the match-winning point.
