Coronavirus case in Victoria recorded in Kmart worker as store forced to close – 7NEWS.com.au

A Kmart store in Melbournes north has been forced to close after a worker returned a positive test for coronavirus.
The store in Greensborough Plaza was closed for deep cleaning and will reopen on Tuesday.

In a statement to 7NEWS.com.au, a spokesperson for the retailer said the store was closed as soon as a confirmed infection was reported.
At Kmart, the health and safety of our team and customers is our highest priority and we can confirm that a team member at our Kmart Greensborough store has returned a positive result for COVID-19, they said.

As soon as we were made aware, we immediately closed the store as a safety precaution and were currently conducting a thorough sanitisation of the store and will reopen tomorrow.
We are working closely with the Department of Health and will continue to keep our team and customers informed.
Victoria on Monday reported 177 new cases of coronavirus.
Seventy-nine cases were deemed community transmission, meaning the source of infection is unknown.

Metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire is currently in stage three coronavirus restrictions.
Residents are ordered to stay at home unless seeking or administering care, attending work or school, essential shopping or daily exercise.
