Scams victims of thousands of dollars
The Swedish Royal Court is investigating claims someone is impersonating Prince Carl Philip of Sweden on WhatsApp in order to extort money out of royal followers.
Royal Central was contacted by an individual who had taken screenshots of a conversation with someone they initially believed was the royal, before becoming suspicious.
In the exchange, the person calls themselves ‘Prince Carl’ and used a fake passport to convince victims he was the actual prince.
