Tassie’s shock ultimatum to AFL – and it could cost clubs millions
The Tasmanian Government has reportedly threatened to end its long association with Hawthorn and North Melbourne should the AFL choose not to commit to a standalone team in the state.
The Herald Sun on Thursday night reported Tasmanian Premier Peter Gutwein had sent a letter to the AFL demanding a timetable for the introduction of its own side. Until then, the state wouldnt negotiate with either the Hawks nor Kangaroos.
It comes as both clubs enter the final years of their respective lucrative deals…
