Coronavirus outbreak at Menarock LIFE aged care Essendon – 7NEWS.com.au
Residents have been taken to acute care in hospital in a very concerning coronavirus outbreak for authorities.

Fourteen residents from Menarock LIFE aged care in Essendon have been taken to hospital after testing positive to coronavirus.
Several of the residents had been transferred to acute care and the home was being intensively managed, Victorias Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton said.

Theres a big outbreak, a number of staff and residents have been infected that that outbreak, he said.
The aged care home confirmed 17 staff members had also tested positive to coronavirus.
A further 21 residents have returned negative COVID-19 tests and have been retested with results pending.
All aged care workers in Victoria will now be required to wear surgical masks following recommendations from the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC).
Kath Warren, Menarock LIFE CEO said the facility had been in regular contact with the resident and their family members.
An infection control co-ordinator has been sent to the home, along with additional personal protective equipment, coronavirus tests and emergency workers.
The health and wellbeing of our residents is our utmost priority, Warren said.
We are working closely with federal and state health authorities and infection control experts to manage this COVID-19 outbreak.
The number of people infected at the home has doubled in one day.
On Sunday, Menarock LIFE reported 11 coronavirus cases.
Victoria reported 177 new coronavirus cases on Monday bringing the states total to 3967.
Twenty-five are connected to previous outbreaks and 151 are under investigation.
