Oscar nominee Florence Pugh (“Midsommar,” “Black Widow”) is attached to star in the sci-fi courtroom drama “Dolly” for Apple Studios.
Inspired by Elizabeth Bear’s short story, the film follows a robotic ‘companion doll’ that kills its owner and then shocks the world by claiming that she is not guilty and asking for a lawyer.
The film blends elements of both classic courtroom drama and sci-fi, sounding like a cousin to the award-winning “The Measure of a Man” episode of “Star Trek: The Next Generation”.
