Sacked Queensland professor scores first win in High Court appeal

Dr Ridd was the head of the university’s physics department when was he was dismissed.
In response to Thursday’s High Court decision, Dr Ridd posted on his Facebook page, thanking supporters for donating an estimated $1.4 million to help cover the costs of his legal battle.
“We have successfully convinced the High Court to hear this case, most likely in the middle of the year. I am naturally relieved that the highest court in our country will hear the case,” he wrote.
“I will continue to advocate for academic freedom protected by legislation. Academic freedom is essential to the search of truth and learning.
