‘So young?!’: Beckham fans react to Brooklyn’s engagement news – Yahoo Lifestyle Australia

Brooklyn Beckham and girlfriend Nicola Peltz announced their engagement after nine months of dating over the weekend.
The happy news has come as something of a shock to fans of the Beckham family, who say the prospect of the couples forthcoming nuptials makes them marvel at how time has flown by.

Many posted on Twitter about how they were convinced the Victorias eldest son was still a child – remarking that they could not believe he was now aged 21.
One person wrote: I thought Brooklyn Beckham was still 8????
Another commented: Brooklyn Beckham is engaged sorry Im gonna need 5-10 business days to process this.
Me googling how old Brooklyn Beckham is, to make sure 20 years of my life didnt go by while I blinked 2 seconds ago, was another comment.
Wait. Brooklyn Beckham isnt 8? Arent all the Beckham children under the age of 10? When did this happen? another wrote.
Some also noted that he seemed to be set to marry his 25-year-old other half, an actress, at so young an age.
However, the Spice Girl herself wed Brooklyns footballer father in 1999 when they were 25 and 24 respectively.

The reaction to the engagement comes after Brooklyn announced on Instagram yesterday that he had popped the question to Nicola a fortnight ago.
In a post, he wrote: Two weeks ago I asked my soulmate to marry me and she said yes xx.
I am the luckiest man in the world. I promise to be the best husband and the best daddy one day.
I love you baby xx.
The caption accompanied an image of him with his American fiancée showing off the engagement ring while embracing in a field.
It has received almost two million likes, with the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Sofia Richie and Millie Bobby Brown sharing their congratulations.
On her own account, Nicola revealed the unlikely photographer for the sweet image.
She wrote: Youve made me the luckiest girl in the world.
I cant wait to spend the rest of my life by your side. your love is the most precious gift.
I love you so so much baby and thank you Harper for this pic.
It appears the family have reunited after Brooklyn and Nicola spent lockdown in the United States, while Victoria, David and their three other children – Romeo, 17, and Cruz, 15, and eight-year-old daughter – were together in the Cotswolds.
The fashion designer posted her own congratulations, telling them: The MOST exciting news!!
