The new recruit who will be a “Carlton employee for life” – SEN
“I just wanted to give them a shoutout.”

Kane Cornes believes Eddie Betts is one of the best recruits of the year, highlighting the crucial role hes set to play at Carlton in years to come.
Betts has kicked nine goals from five games in his first season back at the Blues, including four in their win over the Western Bulldogs on Sunday night.
Cornes feels Adelaide missed an opportunity by not keeping the 33-year-old at the club in the longer term, saying Carlton stood to benefit even once his playing days after over.
If theres not a better recruit for what Eddie Betts will do for Carlton Im not sure what is, Cornes said on SENs Whateley.
Hell be a Carlton employee for life and I think theres a missed opportunity for Adelaide not to make Eddie Betts a player for life (but it) will be a massive opportunity for Carlton.
Whatever he delivers on the field, itll be insignificant compared to what hell deliver for Carlton in years to come and the role hes going to play.
Cornes also singled out ruckman Marc Pittonet, who has played a pivotal role for the Blues since moving from Hawthorn at the end of last year.
I love stories like Pittonet in the ruck, he said.
What a recruit hes been this year, its terrific they kicked 11 goals from turnovers and made the Bulldogs look pedestrian at times.
I just wanted to give them a shoutout.
