Badosa said she was heavily impacted by a turbulent buildup to the event, which included becoming the first player to test positive for an active case of COVID-19 upon arrival and heavy criticism for complaints about quarantine conditions.
Speaking after her 6-7, 7-6, 7-5 loss to Russian qualifier Liudmila Samsonova, Badosa said she fought hard in the match but was totally against the clock given the circumstances surrounding her preparation, something she wouldnt sign up for again.
