Australian Open 2021: Alexei Popyrin upsets David Goffin on great day for Australia’s men – The Age
Three Aussie men progressed to the second round of the Open on Tuesday but Sydney product Alexei Popyrin’s victory over David Goffin was the pick of the bunch.
The way I played was really pleasing to me. All the preseason work I did physically and on my game it paid off today.

Popyrins brilliant win came on a very successful day for Australias men, as Alex de Minaur and Chris OConnell also progressed.
De Minaur, the 21st seed, faced eccentric American Tennys Sandgren. After a tight first set, the Australian took control and finished with a comfortable 7-5, 6-1, 6-1 win.
