China has issued a stark warning to countries threatening to boycott the upcoming Winter Games.

Countries threatening to boycott the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics can expect trade sanctions in return, state-run tabloid Global Times says.
The editor-in-chief of the outlet tweeted that boycotting the Games was an unpopular idea.
IOC and athletes will both oppose it, and China will seriously sanction any country that follows such a call, Hu Xijin tweeted.
