Bruce Springsteen popping up in a Super Bowl commercial was one of the biggest surprises in this year’s stack of high-profile ads.
No company has ever secured Springsteen’s (aka The Boss) endorsement, so his appearance was a big deal.
The sweeping ad for Jeep, called The Middle, aims for a unity message in an increasingly divided America.
But it fell flat for some who said it was “tone deaf”, particularly in the wake of the deadly US Capitol riot.
