‘Get tested’: Urgent COVID warning for four Qld suburbs

Acting Chief Health Officer Sonya Bennett said fragments of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, had been found in wastewater at Pimpama, Coombabah and Merrimac on the Gold Coast and at Loganholme in the latest sewage analysis.Dr Bennett said it was possible the detections related to previous COVID-19 cases who were continuing to shed viral fragments even after they were no longer infectious.
