Britain’s ‘Australian-style’ hotel quarantine regime in disarray a week before it starts – Sydney Morning Herald
The government is yet to strike a contract with any hotel chain even though the rooms need to be available by Monday.
Hundreds of thousands of citizens are thought to have entered Britain in the three weeks between the initial hotel quarantine announcement and schemes commencement on February 15.
The government is also yet to sign any contracts with hotel chains even though the rooms need to be available in less than a week.
Documents suggest about 1425 returning passengers will need to be quarantined each day roughly the same number of returning Australian citizens the state of Victoria is accepting each week.
