Bernard Tomic has been complimented by his second round Australian Open opponent Denis Shapovalov – albeit with an awkward opening that sparked laughter.
Shapovalov, the 11th seed, won an epic five-setter over Jannik Sinner on day one; a match that ran to almost 1am on Tuesday.
Afterwards, he was asked about the prospect of facing Aussie maverick Tomic in round two and inadvertently broke up the crowd.
