They look like baby crocodiles, but never grow up. Last year 7NEWS brought you a story about Queensland’s critically endangered Nangur Spiny Skinks and the Australian-first breeding program to save them. Now,
there’s been a baby boom. “We’ve had eight babies born in captivity. Two sets of triplets and twins.”
The skinks will eventually be released into the wild.
Just two communities remain, including one with fewer than 50 skinks.
