Guest’s fatal fall from Gold Coast hotel balcony believed to be tragic accident after cleaning attempt went wrong
A man who died after falling from the balcony of a Gold Coast hotel may have lost his balance while standing on a chair.
The 36-year-old man from Victoria was understood to be staying at the Surfers Paradise Hilton with family and friends.
The man reportedly fell about 40 floors, landing the footpath of Orchid Avenue.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10pm on Friday.
It is understood he was attempting to clean something from the ceiling of the balcony when he fell.
